Our NSW Team is expanding!

It's been an exciting and productive few months for us here in New South Wales! Our trainees have been putting in an outstanding effort, working extremely hard to meet all workplace competencies, obtain their Certificate III and reach 760 working hours.

A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 trainees who have recently completed their HSC exams. What an incredible accomplishment! We’re also thrilled to share that New South Wales has seen an exceptionally high number of early completions this year. Our team has been blown away with your exceptional commitment and dedication. Well done to each and every one of you!

Exciting times as our NSW team is growing. We're thrilled to welcome 65 new SBATS to the team. This is an incredible cohort, who are already making their mark across our 11 sites. NSW Trainee of the Year

I’m beyond thrilled to announce our NSW Trainee of the Year is. Angus Trickey from Lane Cove Aquatic and Leisure Centre!

Where to start! Over the past two years Angus has truly embraced and embodied his traineeship journey through his perseverance, hard work, initiative, dedication and so much more. Since Angus’s interview in 2022, he has come a long way and truly represented the key values of LEA.

Angus faced multiple challenges along the way, but where others gave up he has continued to excel by applying feedback and always striving to be better. His passion and drive for Lifesaving and Water Safety has not gone unnoticed and has been reflected in his early completion with his working hours.

Congratulations Angus, very well deserved!

North Sydney Update

My name is Kristina and I have had the pleasure of working with the Lane Cove Trainees over the past 6 months. I began my journey with BlueFit & LEA a few years ago when I decided to complete the School Based Traineeship. This program provided me with so many opportunities to grow. It has been amazing to see the Lane Cove Trainees doing the same!

The Lane Cove Trainees have been doing a fantastic job this year! They are excelling in their departments, always eager to learn and improve.

A huge shoutout to Jess Crawford and Luca Portwin for their commitment to the traineeship this year. Both trainees have been working incredibly hard to increase their hours and are due to complete in January 2025. I’d also like to congratulate Rylea Dagger for completing 760 hours in 12 months!

Luca Portwin

As we move into 2025, I’m so excited to see all the trainees excel, take on new roles and continue to grow as they explore new departments and opportunities.

Hurstville Update

My name is Ethan and am very excited to say I will be the new LEA Hurstville Consultant! I was also a trainee that started within this program and finished in 2017. I have been at BlueFit ever since starting the traineeship and am very excited to be starting this new chapter within LEA!

All Hurstville Trainees have been excelling in their work at Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre! They thrive in working at their full potential and have been progressing in many areas of the workplace.

A huge shoutout to Anabelle Stojceska and Nikolas Giitsidis on completing their full 760 hours in the traineeship! Anabelle completed her hours within 12 months whilst Nikolas completed his hours within 9 months! A major achievement from both of these trainees that should not go overlooked so a big congratulations goes to these two outstanding trainees!

Anabelle Stojceska

Another trainee who has also stood out is Lucy Finn for not only getting early entry into ACU for Sports Science but also getting into their elite athletics program! Lucy’s love and passion for Cricket has enabled her to join this program and showcases her talent, hard work and excellence in sports. We wish her all the best as she embarks on this exciting new chapter!

South West Sydney Consultant Update.

My name is Ashley, and I am so excited to say that I will be the new LEA Traineeship Consultant for South West Sydney at Oran Park and Mount Annan. I myself was also a trainee and completed my traineeship during the summer of 2019-2020. I’m excited to announce this transition and look forward to starting this new chapter within LEA.

All of our Mount Annan and Oran Park trainees have been making steady progress throughout their traineeship, being trained across Swim School, Lifeguarding, Customer Service and Kids Sports. All trainees have been thriving in the workplace showing great potential in skill development and are eager to be working in the quick paced work environment.

As we move into the new year I look forward to seeing everyone's growth and supporting them throughout the traineeship journey.

Newcastle Update

Hi, my name is Kylee and I am the new LEA Consultant for Newcastle. I started with Bluefit last season as a weekend casual and by March of this year decided that I would quit my corporate job and spend as much time at Lambton Pool as I could. When Kate approached me to interview for the position as the Newcastle LEA Consultant, I jumped at the chance as I love mentoring and training and felt that it would be a natural fit as I was already training new employees in Customer Service and Kiosk. Since taking on the role, I have added Learn To Swim, Lifeguarding and Duty Management into my repertoire. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the trainees and I am very excited to see what the new year will bring.

Welcome to the new trainees at Lambton:

  • Rhys Hughes
  • Billy Bamford
  • Todd Ambler
  • Grace Kierce
  • Grace O’Shannessy

One of the most exciting things about my job is seeing the growth of the trainees and would like to send a big shout out to Taj Waters. When I started, Taj was also new and started his Customer Service training. Fast forward to this season, Taj has been training as a Lifeguard and I have seen him grow in confidence and maturity. Speaking to the other Duty Managers, all have commented on how impressed they are with Taj and his attitude towards his job. Well done Taj!

Taj Waters

Wow, what a fabulous term NSW has had! We are eager to see what the new year holds for our team. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all.
