NSW Trainee Update

What a busy yet exciting term it has been for our NSW trainees!

Despite the setbacks of the lockdown and completing the HSC, the Year 12 trainees have been working hard to complete the necessary requirements and competencies of their traineeship. As they re-enter the workplace they have been busy undertaking their accreditation courses to ensure they are qualified and ready to tackle the upcoming summer season. We are so proud of their efforts, resilience and dedication to their traineeship. We are beyond proud of you all and are so pleased to witness you all blossom into independent and responsible young adults!

Our Year 11 trainees have been busy as they transition into new departments across the centre with upskilling occuring in Cafe, Swim School and Coaching roles. It has been great to watch you all grow and diversify your skillset as you enter the second year of your traineeship. We also commend the 2021 trainees on their efforts to pick up extra hours and help cover shifts as our year 12 trainees have sat their final exams. Your ability to help out sites has been greatly appreciated by facility and department managers during this period.

We are so excited to have signed 52 new trainees into our 2022 cohort. The NSW LEA team looks forward to working alongside you over the next two years as you grow, develop and upskill throughout your traineeship. As they commence, our 2022 trainees participated in our work readiness workshop where they have been able to establish and understand the responsibilities that come with undertaking the traineeship. We are eager for you to all commence your on site training and utilise the skills that you have developed through your CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard courses that you have undertaken!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Interim NSW Traineeship Manager
