WA Updates
2024 Recap
It’s been an exciting and busy time for the LEA team in the west! Over the past few months, all 2024 trainees have been working incredibly hard to meet the practical and theoretical requirements of their traineeships. I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve had 11 successful completions this year!
This is a massive achievement for all trainees, and I am so incredibly proud of the determination, effort, and dedication they have demonstrated throughout the year.
Trainee Awards
WA has had another fantastic year of awards success!
- Ruby Seddon was named a semi-finalist in the WA Training Awards.
- Emily Everett reached the finals, placing in the top 4 in the State for the WA School-Based Apprentice of the Year category.
- Emily also recently received the North Metropolitan TAFE Ambassador Award for the School-Based Trainee of the Year category.
Additionally, several trainees have been nominated for the SCSA VET Awards in WA. Best of luck to all those nominated!
In more exciting news, I’m proud to announce Jessica Aim as the WA LEA SBAT Winner for 2024! Jess has worked incredibly hard over the past year and is a very deserving recipient of this award.
A special mention also goes to Emily Everett, Ruby Seddon, and Lara Jones for their outstanding efforts and achievements.
2025 Recruitment
WA’s recruitment period for 2025 has been another success, with 25 applications received. While we couldn’t take everyone, we’ve selected a strong team of 10 trainees, who are already making a positive impact at their centres. I’m excited to see the amazing things this cohort will accomplish in the coming year.
I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to the schools, particularly the Careers Advisors I’ve worked with over the years. Your ongoing support and encouragement of the program to your students are greatly appreciated.
Season’s Greetings
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope the festive season is filled with quality time with loved ones, delicious food, and plenty of relaxation. I’m looking forward to celebrating even more trainee success in 2025!
