WA Updates

Wow, what another busy and rewarding term that was! Nearly all WA trainees are now qualified swim teachers which is incredibly exciting and the remaining trainees will be signed off over the coming weeks. Some trainees who completed their swim teaching training earlier in the year have already gained casual teaching jobs at other local centres so it is great to see how transferable the skills they learn are.

Our Year 12 students in particular have also been very busy over the recent weeks ensuring all of their theory work is up to date and their practical hours are on track for completion. I want to wish them all the very best for the final few weeks of their schooling life and can’t wait to hear what they all move on to post-school.

Awards:

I am so incredibly thrilled to announce that Rob Nicolosi has won the very well-deserved title of WA School-Based Trainee of the Year at the WA Training Awards!! Sam Beck, another amazing WA trainee, was also a finalist for this award!

The team at LEA, Belmont Oasis and Morley Sport and Recreation Centre are all so proud of both boys and all of the other nominees as well.

Having two finalists in this extremely competitive category really speaks to the calibre of trainees we have in our program and I am looking forward to watching and being a part of the continued expansion.

Recruitment Update:

We are currently in the thick of recruitment season and have a total of 10 applicants at time of writing. We are so excited to meet all of the new applicants and have them join our team!
