GM UPDATE

Hi team,

I can’t believe we are already at the end of Term 1. Well done to all our trainees who are doing wonderful things in their workplaces and also in their studies. I’d also like to acknowledge our trainees who have been online and engaging in our workshops. These are not only a great personal tool for your future, but a great addition to your traineeship completion. You can read more about our workshops below! Finally, I’d like to address the recent qualification changes that are happening.

SPORT AND RECREATION TRAINING PACKAGE CHANGES

In December 2022, the qualifications that our trainees study as part of their traineeships, were all superseded. This in essence means the qualifications have been revised and updated according to training and industry demands.

Please see a table below with a brief outline of the changes.

Current Qualifications

New Qualification

SIS30122

The two previous qualifications have merged – SIS30115 and SIS31015.

Specialisations have been added:

  • Pool Lifeguard

  • Recreation Officer

SIS30115

All of our registered training organisation (RTO) partners have been wonderful in working with the LEA team to ensure we can still successfully support and complete our current trainees within the current qualification. As part of their RTO registration with Australian Skills Quality Authority, you may receive notification that your qualification has been replaced, however please note there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

What happens now:

You have up until December 2023 to complete your current qualification and therefore also receive the appropriate credit towards your HSC/QCE/VCE/WACE/SACE.

As you are all aware, we run a well supported and structured program which actually means you are due to complete with enough time to get your Year 12 results finalised. For our NSW trainees, we have a little extension and will therefore still ensure successful completion.

Please note, we monitor all qualification progress closely and will therefore be able to identify anyone that may be at risk of not completing their requirements in time. If this is the case, your LEA consultant will work closely with you, your school and the RTO to understand your options moving forward and put a plan in place. As always, if you have any questions at all please reach out to your LEA consultant, alternatively you can email us below:
