SA Updates

How are we already at the halfway point for 2026?!

Here in SA, 2026 has certainly been a year of firsts. Follow along:

  • The first year that ALL trainees continued with both Lifeguarding and Swim School. There was nothing better than being told by the Aquadome Swim School Manager that the 2026 cohort has been the highest standard of trainees she has ever had. Well done team!
  • Aaliyah is our first trainee from Paralowie R-12 School.

  • Mahnaz is our first trainee from Roma Mitchell Secondary College.
  • Deepika is our first trainee from Salisbury East High School.
  • Florin was the first to get her licence out of the cohort.
SA Girls

This has also been the first year that two of our trainees (Mitchell and Cooper) came incredibly close to reaching their total required annual hours by June alone. That level of commitment, consistency and work ethic is something to be incredibly proud of. An honourable mention also goes to Deepika, who’s not that far behind.

Cooper

A huge congratulations to Mitchell and Cooper for being nominated for the SA Traineeship Awards. Their submissions are now in, and we eagerly wait until August to hear the results. Regardless of the outcome, being nominated is already an incredible achievement and recognition of the hard work they put in every single week.

What makes these achievements even more impressive is just how busy this year has been for our trainees. Balancing school commitments, lifeguarding shifts, swim instructor responsibilities, training requirements, and online study sessions is no easy task. Yet they continue to show up with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. The growth in communication skills and confidence across the group has been amazing to watch.

To all of our trainees, keep pushing forward, stay motivated and remember that every shift, every lesson taught, and every challenge overcome is helping build valuable skills for your future. The dedication you are showing now will open doors and create opportunities for years to come. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved so far and excited to see what the second half of 2026 brings!
