VIC UPDATES

Victoria is moving along very well, and the past 6 months have been times of great learning, growth and self understanding!

Callum Rygl

Callum works at Sandringham and Bayside and has immersed himself into a strong and steady routine within these facilities. Experiencing regular school groups as well as being across 2 facilities ( While Sandringham is renovating), Callum has taken to the move and change, like a duck to water, as he continues to learn more about his role as a SBAT

Callum has improved his skills in interacting with young children, and delivering a range of levels in the swim program. Callum’s ability to manage his time across sports, school and his traineeship has been exciting to see, because each month Callum is improving more and more getting rave reviews from his management team

Keep up the great work Callum!

Term 1 Social Event- Indoor Rock Climbing

Everyone loves a social event, so some of the Vic team took part in a day of Indoor Rock Climbing which was a fun and challenging experience! This was a perfect opportunity for the team to come together, share stories about their own traineeship experiences to date, and just have some fun! Working in partnerships to achieve the task allowed for bonding and problem solving outside of their comfort zones. It was great to see some trainees, face their fears of height, and feel super proud of themselves for what they achieved climbing! The giggles, screams and all around laughter was worth the trip into the city to join in……… of course it was followed by lunch!

Recruitment begins!

As well as sharing the wonderful SBAT opportunities LEA can offer, we also like to introduce potential new candidates to a current SBAT. During the recent Melton Careers Expo, students were able to meet Hannah a current SBAT at Melton Waves Leisure Centre, who was able to share her lived experience as an SBAT. Hannah enjoyed the opportunity, and it allowed her to express her own story, and where she aims to go with the help of this traineeship in her future. Well done Hannah on a great contribution to your school community!
