SA UPDATES
Welcoming Our School-Based Trainees
We’re proud to have six School Based Trainees joining our team this year across our two largest sites, Playford Aquadome and the brand new Salisbury Aquatic Centre.
Four trainees at the Aquadome- Alex Turcin, Elianna Kurtzer, Mitchell Gray and Sophie Wuttke – have had the unique opportunity to learn within a well established, high performing facility, gaining valuable experience from a seasoned team in a fully operational environment.
Meanwhile, the two trainees at the Salisbury Aquatic Centre have been part of an exciting journey, experiencing firsthand the launch and early development of a brand new facility. Their exposure to the setup and opening phases has offered invaluable insight into what it takes to build a facility and team from the ground up.
We look forward to continuing to support and mentor these future leaders as they grow in their roles.
We’re also excited to share that three of our trainees, Alex Turcin, Elianna Kurtzer, and Taya Secke have been nominated for the South Australian Training Awards. Their nominations were submitted on 23 May.
Alex Turcin – Playford Aquadome
When Alex first joined he was quietly soaking everything in. Fast forward to now, and he is running lessons like a pro , he’s explaining lessons clearly, keeping kids focused, has fun and jumping into action when safety’s on the line. Alex has learnt that his supervisors really are here to help and help him reach his full potential.

Elianna Kurtzer – Playford Aquadome
Elianna has proven herself to be one of the most well rounded, dependable quiet achievers and she’s just getting started. Whether it’s online or in person. From day one Ellie hit the ground running. She shows up early to sessions, ready to engage and fully prepared. Ellie has quickly become a standout with understanding the learning management system.

Taya Secker – Salisbury Aquatic Centre
Taya was nominated for her work ethic, strong teamwork and timely completion of both practical and online components. Taya is ready to lend a hand by accepting cover shifts whenever she can; this is evident due to her having completed 142 hours more than any other trainee in the SA SBAT program.

Please join us in wishing them the very best of luck as we represent the talent and potential within our team!
