Welcoming Our New Wave of Trainees
It’s not just about celebrating those finishing, let’s also warmly welcome the newest trainees! This year, trainees have started at:
- Lockyer Valley
- Eumundi
- Palmwoods
- Cotton Tree
They are completing courses, beginning shadow shifts, and learning the ropes. If you see them on the pool deck or around the facility, a friendly hello can make a big difference.
Looking ahead, Coolum and Beerwah will welcome new trainees in January as our sector continues to grow across Queensland.

A huge round of applause for Isla Lazarov, who has officially completed Year 12! Balancing school and a traineeship is no small feat, Isla, you should be incredibly proud of all you’ve achieved this year.

Commitment and Achievement
We are thrilled to recognise Lara Pryde as the Queensland LEA School-Based Trainee of the Year. From the start of her SBAT journey, Lara has shown exceptional dedication, maturity, and heart. She consistently went above and beyond, completing coursework, preparing for shadow shifts, supporting new trainees, and contributing an outstanding number of hours. Her reliability, enthusiasm, and initiative have made her an invaluable team member.
Positive Energy and Leadership
Lara brings warmth and kindness to every shift. She uplifts her peers, managers, and the families she teaches. Confidently supporting school swimming programs and assisting wherever needed, she has helped create a friendly, inclusive, and professional environment at her centre.
Queensland – What a Year!
As we approach the end of 2025, our LEA trainees are powering through the last stages of their School-Based Traineeships. Many are completing their final Certificate III modules and working toward 562.5 hours, an incredible milestone that reflects your dedication, consistency, and pride across all BlueFit sites.

To every trainee, mentor, supervisor, and BlueFit staff member: thank you for your passion, effort, and support throughout. You’ve created a safe, fun, and thriving environment for thousands of families and swimmers across Queensland.
A special thank you to Fran, who stepped in as QLD Consultant this year. Your dedication was greatly appreciated, and we wish you all the best in your new role as BlueFit Facility Manager at Eumundi Aquatic Centre.
