Our student success stories
A pathway traineeship is a full-time traineeship designed to combine employment and training with an intended pathway in BlueFit. This traineeship is typically offered to those who have completed the School Based Traineeship and have been identified within their teams as dedicated individuals who will be successful in their career pathways in the Aquatic and Recreation Industry.
This particular traineeship program was first launched in 2018. Here are students who have completed the program.
Grace Burns
Certificate IV Sport and Recreation
Grace completed her School Based Traineeship in 2017, completing a Certificate II Sport and Recreation. Grace was a little unsure of what she wanted to do when she finished school, but she knew she enjoyed working within this industry. She started her Full time traineeship in 2018 with a focus on Pool operations and centre management through the Certificate IV Sport and Recreation. Within 6 months Grace was training and working as a Duty manager and was the youngest duty manager in the company. Fast forward to 2020 and Grace was just promoted to Assistant Facility Manager of Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre - BlueFit’s largest and busiest centre. We are in awe of Grace’s passion and dedication and watching her career progress has truly been amazing. Well done Grace and best of luck with this new and exciting challenge!
Jamie Malik
Certificate IV Sport Development
Jamie completed his School Based Traineeship in 2017, completing a Certificate II Sport and Recreation. After his SBAT, we worked together to come up with the best qualification and program to target his passion in coaching - Certificate IV Sport Development. Jamie began Full time employment and within a matter of months, we saw the true potential in Jamie and his passion for helping others. He has now successfully finished his traineeship and is working within an Assistant Programs Manager role. Covid-19 may have impacted life, but that isn’t stopping Jamie! He is still devoting his time to developing and refining the sport programs and you will definitely be seeing him on videos through the BFit@Home site. We are so proud of how far he has come and we can’t wait to see what he will achieve in the future.
